Cynicism Is A Sorry Kind of Wisdom

Cynicism is a sorry kind of wisdom

Cynicism is a sorry kind of wisdom. Unless you live in a BARREL.

On the campaign trail in 2008, Barack Obama cleverly said “Cynicism is a sorry kind of wisdom”. Actually, I figure his speech writer really came up with this zinger, but whatever. I suspect, in any case, that the guy who basically invented cynicism – Diogenes of Sinope – would probably disagree. I mean, the guy lived in a barrel, and had a lot of time to think about this crap. We don’t. So we’re gonna go with Diogenes on this one, and devote this week’s Monday Metavators to our own sorry kind of wisdom.
