Can A Formula One Car Drive Upside Down?

Formula One Car Upside Down

This is similar to the brainfreezers we shared here in a previous Monday Metavator. I personally first pondered the question of whether or not a Formula One car’s spoilers generate enough force to stick the car to a ceiling back in 2009, but apparently it’s been kicking around longer than that. This video, for instance, was allegedly made back in 2001. The problem? IT’S JUST COMPUTER GRAPHICS, and it proves NOTHING:

This clip required some significant technical know-how and resources to create, and is fairly convincing. But it’s STILL JUST A SIMULATION:

You’ll find this presumably authoritative answer from the All Knowing Google in the form of a “Featured Snippet”, as they’re called. But c’mon. The source is “bleacherreport.com”, not a physics or engineering lab:

This brave bloke offered to PUT HIS LIFE on the line to get the answer. Sadly, he only raised 120 bucks . Will we never get real-world evidence???
