I long ago put forth the theory that America’s obsession with coffee-to-go in what are essentially “sippy cups” is a potent metaphor for the state of America’s psyche. The fact that eight of Amazon’s twenty top-selling books right now are adult coloring books, while the rest are books of knock-knock jokes and cookbooks, well, I think it finally validates my theory (here’s a screenshot, the list changes regularly). And this is where you’ll probably disagree, with some pseudopsychological soapboxing about your inner child or something. Well, stop pouting and stamping your feet, and just go buy the darn things!
